Case of the Month | November

Posted on by drj

The patient is a 40-year-old woman, who has previously undergone breast augmentation with saline implants.  The left-sided implant had ruptured and she had significant breast asymmetry, with the right-sided breast larger, lower and more laterally displaced. She underwent removal of breast implants and replacement with high profile 550 cc silicone-filled breast implants. Extensive reshaping of the right breast capsule was required to hold the right breast implant in a better position. She is seen 3 weeks postoperatively.

This patient of Dr. Sam Jejurikar is a 25-year-old woman who wanted to undergo breast augmentation but did not want any visible scars on the breast. For that reason, breast augmentation was performed using a transaxillary approach (incision in the arm pit). She selected 300 cc moderate profile saline breast implants and is seen 6 weeks after surgery.

Endoscopic transaxillary breast augmentation is a good option for women who wish to avoid visible scars on the breast. If you wish to learn more, feel free to visit Dr. Jejurikar’s main Web site.

Case of the Month | September

Posted on by drj

Dr. Jejurikar’s patient at Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute is a 49-year-old woman who developed droopiness of the breast and loss of breast fullness after multiple pregnancies. She breastfed her children and after she stopped, lost most of her breast fullness. She desired breast augmentation and breast lift (mastopexy) to correct these changes.

She was leery of longer stars than can be associated with a traditional breast lift. She underwent breast lift with a circumareolar incision (incision around the areola, which is the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple) and insertion of 350 cc silicone high profile implants. She is seen 4 months after surgery with perkier and fuller breasts.

For information, please visit Dr. Jejurikar’s primary website.
